17 inch Laptops - Your Complete
Guide
These days, trends indicate that laptops are getting smaller and
more portable while computers have somewhat increased in size –
well, that depends on what you are using your computers for.
Although it can be said that each person’s preferences varies, it
can be said that there are not a lot of users who use 17 inch
laptops compared to the 15 inch ones.
17" versus 15"
laptop
In recent years, many people have preferred to use the smaller laptops because
these have become so handy to bring
along. Students and most professionals do use the smaller laptops
because they are able to use it anywhere whenever they choose to.
On the other hand, the 17 inch laptops are a bit heavier to bring
around, though there are lighter 17 inch laptop that have been
released recently, it is still a bit bigger compared to the
ultra-portable 15 inch laptop.
However, you really cannot say that people prefer the smaller
laptops all the time. There are definitely some perks to having 17
inch screens compared to the 15 inch ones or even the smaller ones.
Here are some reasons why some people prefer 17"
laptops:
- Bigger and higher resolution screens – the smaller laptops do perform basic functions, however graphic designers, movie makers, entertainment people, web designers, and gamers often prefer to use 17 inch laptops or higher because they need the bigger screens plus the ones with the best resolutions.
- Higher capacity – A 17 inch laptop does not only have better screens, they also have better hardware that makes it faster and stronger compared to the nimble netbooks. The 17 inch screens allows its user to edit movies, manage bigger image files, and enjoy better graphics in games, and these usually come with better processors that help maximize the capabilities of the 17 inch laptop.
- Acceptable weight – The 17 inch laptops may not be as light as the netbooks, however these are also no longer as heavy as the older versions. In fact, there are many new products that are generally lighter than some of the earlier netbooks, which gives the added perk of purchasing the bigger laptops.
- “Small personal
computers” – Perhaps one of the biggest perks of using the
bigger laptops because recent models have already integrated a lot
into the laptop which sets it apart from older versions where a
user can only do so much on a laptop. These days, the newer 17 inch
or higher laptops have the capacity of a personal computer, which
makes it more of a travelling or portable personal computer.
